Osimhen deal off? Manchester United agree on personal terms with Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta teammate

There have been a lot of talks linking Osimhen with a transfer to Manchester United, but the deal is unlikely to happen this summer

Manchester United may not push to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer because they have agreed on personal terms with Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, Soccernet reports.

Manchester United are desperately in search of a striker this summer. They had to make do without a top-notch striker for most of last season.

France attacker Antony Martial struggled to stay fit and failed to churn out consistent performances, while Wout Weghorst preferred chasing down balls and doing the dirty jobs on the pitch rather than scoring goals.

The Red Devils have been linked with some strikers this summer, with Super Eagles striker Osimhen the most prominent.

The Nigerian striker scored 31 goals in 39 games for Napoli last season and has caught the eye of many clubs in Europe.

However, the major debacle for Manchester United has been the huge €150million price tag on Osimhen. As such, the former Premier League champions have been looking at cheaper options.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have met and agreed on personal terms with Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund. He says that the Danish striker is open to joining the club.

Hojlund would be a way cheaper option than Osimhen, as he scored only nine goals in the Italian Serie A last season. He is valued at €45million.

If Manchester United succeed in their bid to sign the former FC Copenhagen man, they would likely put a hold on their pursuit of Osimhen this summer.
