Napoli interested in signing Victor Osimhen’s ‘best friend’ – report

The two friends are currently among Nigeria’s most efficient attackers in the game 

Reigning Serie A champions Napoli have set their sights on acquiring talented Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze, igniting a potential battle with AC Milan for his signature, Soccernet.ng reports.

Chukwueze is attracting attention from several clubs in the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A.

The Nigerian winger made a strong impression on Real Madrid, scoring an impressive brace against them at the Santiago Bernabeu. Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, who previously coached Chukwueze at Villarreal, also deeply admired the Nigerian prodigy.

Yet AC Milan are currently considered the frontrunner to land the highly sought-after player this summer.

While AC Milan have reportedly reached personal agreement with Chukwueze and initiated negotiations with Villarreal, they face a significant stumbling block in the form of Villarreal’s demanding transfer fee.

This obstacle has complicated the completion of the deal.

Meanwhile, Napoli, vigilant of the situation, may seize the opportunity to swoop in and secure the services of Chukwueze.

The potential departure of Napoli’s Mexican winger, Hirving Lozano, during this transfer window, could create an opening that Chukwueze could seamlessly fill.

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti reveals that Napoli are currently monitoring the situation surrounding Chukwueze.

Victor Osimhen, Napoli’s most valuable star, would warmly welcome the prospect of reuniting with his “best friend” Chukwueze in Naples.

The pair formed a strong bond during their time as Nigeria’s standout performers in the victorious 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup campaign.

Bringing their partnership to the club level would undoubtedly elevate Napoli’s attacking prowess to new heights.

Osimhen has established himself as Nigeria’s most prolific striker in Serie A history. At the same time, Chukwueze sits sixth on the list of Nigeria’s top-scoring players in La Liga history, with an impressive tally of 21 goals.
