Paul Onuachu had scored 16 goals in 19 appearances for Genk before his move to Southampton where he failed to score a goal in 11 matches
Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has resumed back in training for Southampton ahead of the club’s pre-season games, while Joe Aribo was missing amid speculations he’s likely going to leave the club, Soccernet.ng reports
Both Nigerian Internationals joined the club last season, but have not been able to make an impact at the club. Aribo scored just 2 goals in 27 appearances in all competitions, while his compatriot Onuachu failed to score a goal in 11 appearances, though, the latter joined the club in January.
Aribo has been heavily linked away from the club after just one season at the club, with reports circulating this week that a move to Turkish giant Besiktas is imminent. The 26-year-old has not been able to settle at the club failing to show his best form for the club under three different managers last season.
The former Rangers Glasgow midfielder has now fuelled the speculation of his departure from the club after he was missing the from the club’s first training back after the holidays. His compatriot, Paul Onuachu, was present in the training amid the belief he would be given another chance with the club.

The 29-year-old was the leading top scorer with Genk in the Belgian League in the first part of last season before switching to Southampton on a three and a half years contract. He could only make 11 appearances in his first season in England for the club that was in the middle of the relegation dogfight when he arrived.
Coach Jose Peseiro did not select him in the squad that secured next year’s African Cup of Nations ticket after victory over Sierra Leone, while Aribo played 70 minutes of the game.
