AC Milan make first big move in race for Chukwueze

Chukwueze has been on the radar of the Rossoneri, and they have taken a big step towards securing his services

AC Milan have submitted an opening offer to Villarreal for Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze, Soccernet reports.

Chukwueze’s future has been in the balance for months. The Nigerian’s contract at Villarreal is set to expire at the end of next season, but he has refused to sign a new deal.

There were earlier reports that Real Madrid were interested in getting his services, but the deal has not materialised. However, Los Blancos are not the only ones interested in the 24-year-old winger.

Serie A giants AC Milan have been in the mix, with reports stating they want the Nigerian superstar. English clubs Arsenal and Newcastle United have also been linked.

According to Milan Eye, Milan have submitted an offer to Villarreal for Chukwueze. There are reports that the fee is around €35million, and if that goes through, he would become the Rossoneri’s eighth most expensive signing.

Nonetheless, Villarreal are yet to respond to AC Milan’s offer.
