FC Nantes, Club Brugge, KRC Genk, Union SG lock horns for Nigeria’s ‘new Gift Orban’

Belgium’s top clubs, Club Brugge, Union Saint-Gilloise, and KRC Genk, are reportedly engaged in a fierce competition to secure the services of Akor Adams, a promising 23-year-old Nigerian striker.

Adams, standing tall at 1.90 meters, has been in scintillating form for Norwegian club Lilleström, notching an impressive twelve goals in twelve matches over the past few months.

His goal-scoring prowess has drawn comparisons to Victor Boniface and Gift Orban, who made names for themselves after displaying similar feats in Norway.

According to Team Football (as per Voetbal Nieuws), French side FC Nantes have also expressed interest in acquiring the Nigerian forward.

Lilleström, recognizing the surging demand for their star striker, are eagerly anticipating a substantial transfer fee.

With Adams still under contract for another year and a half, the Norwegians are eyeing a lucrative sum of €3 million, a considerable increase from his current market value of €1.50 million as assessed by Transfermarkt.

The financial demands seem within reach for the prominent Belgian clubs, particularly Club Brugge. However, their necessity for an additional striker may hinge on the potential departures of Ferran Jutgla or Roman Yaremchuk.

On the other hand, KRC Genk and Union SG find themselves in need of attacking firepower.

Genk have struggled to find a suitable replacement for Paul Onuachu, who departed for Southampton in the summer.

At the same time, Union SG could be desperate for a new goal machine as they prepare for the imminent departure of the highly regarded Victor Boniface, who seems set for a transfer record from the club.
