Bayern Munich President sheds light on Osimhen links

Osimhen has been heavily linked with the German champions recently, but he is very expensive

Bayern Munich President Herbert Hainer has revealed that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is one of their striker options this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen had an outstanding campaign with Napoli last season. The 24-year-old attacker registered 31 goals in 39 appearances for the Partenopeans, helping them to their first Serie A title in 33 years.

Osimhen’s brilliance has drawn interest from abroad, as PSG, Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal have all been linked with the Super Eagles star.

Osimhen has been coy about his future, but there is a high possibility that he would leave Naples after winning the Scudetto.

Bayern Munich are in dire need of a top goal poacher as Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is the only target man at the club, and he had failed to replicate the performances of Robert Lewandowski who left the club for Barcelona last summer.

Club President Hainer has revealed that the club has serious intentions to get a striker this summer, and he acknowledges that Osimhen is one of the names on their list. But he says the club is yet to make a choice.

“As a striker costs a lot, we have to make sure he fits well at Bayern. The same names are mentioned in the media: Kolo Muani, Harry Kane, Osimhen, Vlahovic,” Hainer said per Napoli Magazine.

“We are watching closely to see who is a better fit at Bayern. We’re also looking at the financial side. I am convinced that we will find a good solution.”

It would be a tough task to get Osimhen from Napoli. The Super Eagles striker is expected to cost up to €150million, and Bayern Munich have never spent up to that amount on a player.
