Why Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is who Thomas Tuchel needs to lead Bayern Munich’s front line

Bayern Munich’s attack has been a force to be reckoned with over the years, but there is no denying that they are in need of an upgrade this summer.

With Robert Lewandowski gone and Sadio Mane struggling to fill the shoes of the departed Polish forward, the Bavarian giants must, as a necessity, sign an elite striker this summer.

While Bayern have some talented forwards in their squad, such as Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane, they have yet to find a striker who can lead the line and take them to the next level.

Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker currently playing for Napoli, could be just the man Thomas Tuchel needs to fill this void.

Osimhen burst onto the scene in 2015 when he won the Under-17 World Cup golden boot with Nigeria, and his potential has been evident ever since. After a less-than-stellar stint in Germany with Wolfsburg, the 24-year-old has excelled in Belgium, France, and now Italy.

In his first season at Lille, Osimhen scored 13 goals in 27 Ligue 1 games, and his impressive performances earned him a move to Napoli.

In his debut season in Serie A, he scored 14 goals and provided five assists. This season, he has taken his game to a whole new level, scoring 21 times in 26 league appearances and adding five goals in six Champions League games.

Osimhen’s goals have come in a variety of ways, showcasing his versatility and adaptability. He is equally comfortable pressing high up the pitch and dispossessing opponents, as he is lurking in and around the box, waiting for a chance to pounce. His lethal finishing ability, combined with his impressive work rate, makes him the perfect modern striker.

Tuchel’s Bayern Munich are known for their high-pressing, possession-based style of play, and Osimhen’s ability to press high and win the ball back quickly would fit seamlessly into the team’s tactics.

Moreover, his partnership with winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia at Napoli has been a major highlight of the season. It is something that could be replicated with the likes of Sane and Gnabry at Bayern.

It is worth noting that Osimhen is likely to command a significant transfer fee, given his exponential rise in importance to Napoli.

However, the investment could be well worth it for Bayern as they look to build a squad capable of challenging for both domestic and European honours.

In conclusion, Victor Osimhen is the kind of striker Bayern Munich have been missing for some time now. His versatility, work rate, and impressive goal-scoring record make him the perfect fit for Tuchel’s side, and his potential to develop even further is an exciting prospect for Bayern fans.

While his price tag may be steep, he could prove to be a wise investment for the Bavarian giants.
