Union SG stands firm: ₦7.5billion not enough for 21-goal Nigerian striker

The Super Eagles hopeful has enjoyed a spectacular rise in profile during the current campaign, and he appears set for a move to one of Europe’s most celebrated leagues in the summer

Victor Boniface’s impressive performances at Union SG have attracted attention from top European clubs, sparking speculation about his future, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian forward made a significant impact in the Europa League, netting an impressive six goals, which has caught the eye of clubs such as Napoli, AC Milan, Lazio, and RB Leipzig, among others.

It appears increasingly likely that Boniface will be on the move in the summer transfer window, but his current club is adamant that a substantial transfer fee will be required to secure his services.

Union SG’s CEO, Philippe Bormans, emphasized the club’s stance on Boniface’s valuation, stating that a mere 15 million euros (approx. 7.5 billion naira) would not secure his transfer, per Voetbal Nieuws

The Belgian club is well aware of the Nigerian’s talent and the interest he has generated, and they are determined to extract a significant fee for his departure.

With Boniface’s impressive goal-scoring record and the potential he has showcased in European competition, Union SG believes they hold a strong negotiating position in any potential transfer talks.

As the transfer window approaches, the race to sign Boniface is expected to intensify, with clubs likely to engage in fierce negotiations to secure his signature.

The exciting attacker’s skill, pace, and goal-scoring ability have made him a highly sought-after talent, and the competition for his services is heating up.

The final transfer fee for Boniface’s move is yet to be determined. Still, Union SG intends to command a significant sum for their star player, underlining his value and potential impact in any new team he joins.

Union SG paid only two million euros to sign Boniface from Bodø/Glimt last August.
