Onuachu missed Southampton’s last two games, but he could be in the lineup when they meet Nottingham Forest on Monday
Southampton coach Ruben Selles has revealed that Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu would be available for their Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest on Monday Soccernet.ng reports.
Onuachu has missed Southampton’s last two games because of a slight injury.
The Super Eagles striker has enjoyed a lot of game time since he arrived at the St. Mary’s despite his reputation from the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
He has made just nine appearances for the club since he joined in January earlier this year.
The Saints are in a serious fight to avoid relegation this season, and they take on fellow relegation battles Nottingham Forest next.
Ahead of the fixture, coach Ruben Selles has revealed that Onuachu is back to full fitness and will be available for selection.
“Paul Onuachu is fit,” Selles said per Hampshirelive.
“He came back to training this week and if nothing happens between now and Monday, he will be selectable for the game.”
Despite his availability, it is unlikely that the former Genk star will start. Selles has shown that he prefers to use Carlos Alcaraz instead of Onuachu since he took over at the club. The big Nigerian striker will likely be used as a substitute.
