With a statement on their official website, Slovan Liberec has announced the completion of a permanent deal for Nigerian striker Victor Olatunji, Soccernet.ng reports.
The three-time Czech First League champions exercised the option to acquire the talented player, who had been on loan from Cyprus’s Larnaca since January.
Olatunji’s impressive performances during his loan spell have convinced the club’s management to secure his services for the long term.
The 23-year-old striker, standing at an imposing 193 centimeters, made an immediate impact upon his arrival in Liberec.
He showcased his abilities by finding the back of the net in his competitive debut against Pardubice.
As the engagement progressed, Olatunji’s contributions grew even more significant. He made notable contributions in matches against Slavia, Zlín, Hradec Králové, and České Budějovice, playing a pivotal role in helping Slovan dominate the playoffs.
Throughout his 18 league appearances donning the blue and white jersey, Olatunji scored an impressive eight goals and provided one assist.
He showcased his versatility and discipline on the field, accumulating just one yellow card while maintaining a commendable 56.9% dribbling success rate and nearly 20% shooting success rate.
Additionally, he made a notable start in the MOL Cup, where he displayed his composure by scoring in the penalty shootout against Sparta.
Having previously played for Slovak Inter Bratislava, Podbrezová, Austrian SV Mattersburg, and Cypriot clubs Alki Oroklini and Larnaca, Olatunji has now found a permanent home at Slovan Liberec.
