Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks, but his price tag could make the deal complicated
Manchester United are looking at signing France and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani in case their attempt to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli falls through, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen has been impressive for Napoli in the last two seasons. The Super Eagles striker registered 18 goals and six assists in 32 appearances for the Partenopeans last season.
This season, he has taken it a notch higher, nicking 26 goals and five assists in 33 games. His displays have been key in their stellar season in Serie A, and they are close to winning the league for the first time in 33 years.
His displays have caught the eyes of some top teams in Europe, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and PSG all linked to him.
However, Napoli are not willing to let him go easily, and they are looking to milk out as much as possible from potential suitors.
They signed Osimhen from Lille for €72 million three years ago, and they would look to get almost double that from a future sale, especially with Osimhen’s consistent brilliance.
Manchester United are desperate to get a new striker, and the 24-year-old seems to be their top target.
However, because of Osimhen’s price tag, the club are looking for a cheaper option. According to Daily Mail, Kolo Muani is one of the options that they are eyeing.
The France international is one of the best young players in Europe, recording 20 goals and 14 assists for his club this season. Some top clubs in Europe are already keeping tabs on him.
His price could rise in the summer because of the number of clubs that are interested in him.
