Man United’s pursuit of £70 million-priced Inter Milan player could hamper their efforts to get Victor Osimhen

Since Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United, the club has been attempting to sign a striker, and Victor Osimhen has been on that list

Manchester United are considering acquiring red-hot Inter Milan midfielder Lautaro Martinez, which might put a halt to their pursuit of Napoli star Victor Osimhen, Soccernet.ng understands.

According to Football Insider, Inter Milan is open to selling the Red Devils’ target this summer in order to acquire finances for the summer transfer window.

A number of European clubs, including the Old Trafford outfit, are reportedly interested in signing the Nigerian sensation owing to his outstanding Neapolitans’ performance this season.

However, there appears to be an intense debate over whom to buy—Osimhen or Harry Kane—in the English team’s boardroom.

Meanwhile, rumours claimed that given his young age, the Nigerian fits into their long-term plan. However, the club agreeing to Osimhen’s asking price from Napoli and Kane’s demand from Tottenham could also prevent Osimhen from joining United.

They may not be able to sign the Super Eagles talisman this summer if they pursue Martinez, who presently trails Osimhen(21) with 17 goals on the Serie A top scorers table.

United has been informed of the sale of Martinez, but the club has not yet spoken. A decision will be taken by the team when the summer transfer market opens.
