Lookman has been out of action since the 17th of April, but he may be fully fit for their next game against Hellas Verona
Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman is set to return to action for Atalanta when they play Hellas Verona on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Lookman has had a brilliant campaign with Atalanta this season registering 15 goals and eight assists in 30 appearances. Despite moving to Italy last summer, he has taken to the club like fish in water, forming an integral part of Gian Pero Gasperini”s team.
However, he has missed Atalanta’s last six Serie A games because of a muscle strain. He was sidelined for the games against Salernitana, Juventus, Spezia, Torino, Roma, and Fiorentina, but he could be back in action soon.
According to Tutto Atalanta, Lookman could return to action on Saturday when they play Hellas Verona.
The former Everton man has started individual training, and a late fitness test will be done on him before the game at the Gewiss Stadium.
Atalanta currently sit 7th in the Serie A, but they could still fight for a place in Europe. They are one point behind Roma who are 6th, and three points behind AC Milan, who are fifth. Coach Gasperini would hope that Lookman returns to action as they push for a spot in Europe.
