Meet Ifeoluwa Olowoporoku: Golden Eaglets prodigy set to make history for Nigeria at U17 AFCON

In what could be described as a historic moment for Nigerian football, Ifeoluwa Adewale Olowoporoku has been named the youngest player in the Golden Eaglets squad for the 2023 U-17 African Cup of Nations in Algeria.

At just 14, Olowoporoku has already made an incredible impact in the football world as he is set to display his versatility and skills as a midfielder.

Born on July 15, 2008, Olowoporoku has been playing football since childhood. His talent was nurtured at the renowned Tripple 44 Academy in Ibadan, Oyo State, where he developed into an exceptional youngster.

The Tripple 44 Academy is renowned for producing talented athletes who are not only skilled in their sports but also excel academically.

Olowoporoku is one such athlete who has balanced his passion for football with his studies.

Now, Olowoporoku has been given the opportunity to represent his country on a bigger stage, and he is ready to showcase his incredible skills in Algeria.

Nigeria’s U-17 team is one of the youngest in the competition, with an average age of just 15. This means that Olowoporoku will have the chance to play alongside some of the best young footballers in Nigeria and Africa.

The tournament kicks off on April 29th in three cities of Algeria – Algiers, Annaba, and Constantine.

Nigeria’s first game is against Zambia on Sunday, and the Golden Eaglets will be relying on Olowoporoku and his teammates to put up a good performance as they aim to lift the trophy for a record third time.

Nduka Ugbade, the head coach of the Golden Eaglets squad, has shown great faith in Olowoporoku, and the youngster is eager to repay his coach’s trust on the pitch.

As the competition unfolds, all eyes will be on Olowoporoku and the Nigerian team as they strive to make history in Algeria.
