Fenerbahce’s “embarrassing” defeat to Besiktas displease Super Eagles star Osayi-Samuel

Jorge Jesus’ team suffered a crushing defeat at home in front of the home fans by a score of 4 goals to nil

Super Eagles defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel, voiced his disappointment in the outcome of Fenerbahçe SK’s home game against 10-man Beşiktaş Jk.

After the international break, the Turkish team fell to their fierce rivals at the Şükrü Saracoğlu by a score of 2-4, which put them on the outs.

Following the game, Osayi-Samuel, whose stellar play during the international break won him a starting spot, voiced his dissatisfaction with the loss.

Ecuadorian star, Enner Valencia, scored the opening goal for the home side from the penalty spot with a few minutes remaining in the first half. But, drama lurked in the second half as the away team scored four goals past Altay Bayndr to seal the victory.

Jorge Jesus’ team still struggled despite Wellington Silva earning a second yellow, which reduced the opposition to 10, as İrfan Kahveci scored in the last seconds.

The Nigerian defender, who spoke to the media after the game, said that the outcome was disgraceful.

“We are disappointed. The result we got is embarrassing.”, Osayi-Samuel said.

Throughout his 63 minutes of play, the Nigerian defender received ratings of 85 for Pass Success Percentage and 6.63 for Work Rate, but these ratings were unable to propel his side to victory.

Nonetheless, the Nigerian will be hoping to inspire his club to move beyond the defeat when they host Kayserispor in the Turkish Cup quarterfinal at Şükrü Saracoğlu.
