Osimhen has been heavily linked with a transfer to Bayern Munich recently, and they could make a move for him in the summer
Bayern Munich Sports Director Hasan Salihamidzic is coy about the potential signing of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen has been heavily linked with a transfer to German giants Bayern Munich in recent weeks.
The Bavarians let Robert Lewandowski leave the club last summer, but they failed to get a reliable replacement for the Polish hitman.
They have alternated between using a false nine and playing Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting as the top striker, but the results have not been encouraging.
Bayern Munich were dumped out of the Champions League on Wednesday, and the absence of a top poacher was visible.
They are also in danger of losing their Bundesliga title this season if they do not rev up their performances.
The club would be shopping for a proven goal poacher in the summer, and Osimhen’s name has been in the mix.
After their 1-1 draw against Manchester City on Wednesday, Bayern Munich Sports Director admitted that the club are weighing their options. But the money involved will play a big role.
“I will not discuss names now. However, we will see what the coach has in mind, who is involved, what are the financial implications, then we can see the possibilities,” Salihamidzic said when quizzed about the possibility of signing Osimhen.
Because of Osimhen’s great form which has seen him score 26 goals in 31 games this season, Napoli would be looking to milk potential suitors.
The Partenopeans would be asking for a fee in the region of €120million. Bayern Munich are known to be frugal spenders and it may be tough for them to pay that amount.
However, few young strikers in the world can do better than Osimhen.
