“Osimhen inspires me”- Maldini

Osimhen continues to draw praises for his performances, and this time, it is from the son of a football great

Paolo Maldini’s son Daniel Maldini, who plays for Spezia has revealed that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is his inspiration.

Nigeria striker Osimhen has continued to gather plaudits for his brilliance this season. After struggling to perform at maximum level in the previous two seasons, he has picked up and become a very important part of the setup at Napoli.

He has beaten his personal best, registering 21 goals and five assists in 26 appearances, helping the Partenopeans to the summit of the Serie A.

Maldini, who plays for Spezia on loan from Scudetto holders AC Milan has revealed that Nigeria talisman Osimhen is the player that inspires him.

“Osimhen inspires me,” Maldini said per Napoli Magazine. “He is having an incredible championship. It’s really overwhelming.”

Maldini is also having a decent campaign with Spezia. He left Milan for Spezia last summer on a season-long loan deal, and he has two goals in 15 appearances.

Meanwhile, Napoli look set for their first Scudetto in over 30 years, and Osimhen’s goals have been important in their quest. They need just seven wins from their remaining 12 games to be champions of Italy.

  • I'm relieved to have found this helpful resource. The preceding piece in particular has taught me a great deal about the world and its workings.

  • Osimhen's influence as a role model for young players like Maldini could inspire both Nigerian and international talent, adding another layer to his growing status in the football world.
