“They can do it” – Jay-Jay Okocha names club that can win the Champions League

The Parisiens have sent a lot of money over the years, and Okocha believe their quality could lead them to Champions League glory

Super Eagles legend Jay-Jay Okocha has stated that PSG have a good chance of winning the UEFA Champions League soon.

Okocha made waves while playing for PSG between 1998 and 2002. He scored twelve goals in 84 appearances before leaving for Bolton in June 2022.

However, during his time at the club, they lacked a lot of quality players. But the club’s fortunes changed in 2011 when the Qatari Sports Investment group took over ownership.

PSG have won the Ligue 1 nine times since 2011. And they have consistently given a good account themselves in the Champions League.

The reason for their success is not far-fetched, as the club owners have invested a lot of money in transfers over the years. Unfortunately, the Champions League has always eluded them.

This season, PSG are in the round of 16 of the Champions League where they will play Bayern Munich. And former Super Eagles midfielder Okocha believes the club has a good chance.

“It is only a matter of time. I have no doubts that PSG will win the Champions League. The only question is when will it happen? When will the team be ready?” Okocha said per Daily Post.

“I think they bought a couple of players lately that help the younger ones to believe in that too. And I think that is what they are missing right now to win the title: the belief that they can do it.”

“Leo is making a really good impression, even since he came back from his vacation after the World Cup.

“I would not be at all surprised if he really ignited again this season and helps PSG to the trophy.”

PSG have a tough task in their hands as their star man Kylian Mbappe will miss their game against Bayern Munich because of an injury.

If they can surmount the Bayern Munich hurdle, they would have a great chance of winning the title.
