Lookman has been immense for Atalanta this season, and he came up clutch again at the Stadio Olimpico
Super Eagles attacker Ademola Lookman assisted Atalanta’s second goal in their 2-0 victory against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
Atalanta were looking to bounce back from successive defeats to Inter Milan and Sassuolo when they traveled to Rome to play Lazio.
La Dea boss Gian Pero Gasperini kept the faith in his Super Eagles lad Lookman and handed him a starting shirt.
Atalanta did not boss the possession, but they looked very deadly in counter-attacking situations. La Dea had 13 goal attempts in the first half. And their pressure paid off as Davide Zappacosta gave them the lead after 23 minutes.
Gasperini’s lads saw out the lead until halftime despite the pressure.
In the second half, Atalanta looked sharper. And they had several opportunities but they finally made it count in the 65th minute.
Lookman played a pass to Rasmus Hojlund, who controlled well and played a precise shot past Provedele in the Lazio goal.
Asides from his assist, Lookman had two saved shots, hit the bar once, two successful dribbles, and six key passes.
Atalanta saw out the 2-0 victory in Rome, and that pushes them to third in Serie A. Lookman now has six assists in the Serie A season.
