Aina soars over Success and Ehizibue in Torino’s tough win against Udinese

Three Nigerians were on the pitch but Aina made the most crucial contribution

Kingsley Ehizibue and Isaac Success featured for Udinese while Ola Aina started for Torino, but Aina’s assist for Yann Karamoh’s goal helped the Granata to a 1-0 win.

Torino were looking to return to winning ways when they welcomed Udinese to Stadio Olimpico di Torino.

Granata boss Ivan Juric handed Ola Aina his first start since his return from injury while Udinese coach Andrea Sottil handed starting shirts to Success and Ehizibue.

The first half was goalless, but Torino made their intent clear with their intensity and their five goal attempts.

Success did not offer much for Udinese up front as Torino were solid in defense.

However, Torino got their breakthrough just at the start of the second half, and Aina had a hand in it.

The Super Eagles fullback sent a pinpoint cross to Yann Karamoh, who calmly finished in the box to put Torino ahead.

Success tried to help his side draw level but his efforts failed to yield fruits. He registered two shots that were off-target and won five fouls. Also, Ehizibue was taken off for Udinese in the 72nd minute.

Meanwhile, Aina had a great game for Torino. His assist proved vital as it helped secure the victory for the Granata.

Aina also had 75 touches, three accurate crosses, four successful dribbles, and two clearances.

The win takes Torino to seventh place in Serie A. While Udinese remain in eighth.
