Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel was outstanding in defense for Fenerbahce, helping them claim a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Hatayspor.
Fenerbahce returned to Super Lig action when they welcomed Hatayspor to the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul. They needed a win to climb to the summit of the league.
Coach Jorge Jesus handed Super Eagles defender Osayi-Samuel a spot in the starting eleven for Fenerbahce.
The former Turkish champions did not waste time in showing their quality. Joshua King gave Fenerbahce the lead in the 20th minute.
Before Hatayspor could regroup, Michy Batshuayi struck again in the 26th minute to make it 2-0 going into the break.
Second-half goals from Serdar Dursun and Gustavo Henrique completed the 4-0 rout for Fenerbahce.
Super Eagles star Osayi-Samuel had a great game. He saw 90 minutes of action. He registered two interceptions, 69 touches, two key passes, and one successful dribble.
The win takes the former Turkish champions to the summit of the Super Lig, two points above Galatasaray.
