“He’d add pace to the Villa attack” – Arsenal-linked Super Eagles winger tipped for Aston Villa transfer

Several Nigerian wingers are enjoying a brilliant 2022-2023 campaign, and one of them could be set for a Premier League move in the coming months

Samuel Chukwueze would be a perfect addition to the Aston Villa attack should the Premier League club strike a deal with Villarreal for the Super Eagles forward.

Football analyst Pete O’Rourke made this submission in an interview with Football FanCast.

He said: “When you get a new manager at a club they always look to sign players that they have worked with before and know. Chukwueze would be one of those that Emery trusts for Villa.

“He is looking to improve Aston Villa’s attacking output, and Chukwueze would definitely add to them. He’s a tricky winger who can score goals and provide goals. He’s someone who would definitely add some pace to the Villa attack as well.”

The recent appointment of former Arsenal manager Unai Emery has fueled Chukwueze’s links to Aston Villa.

Until becoming the boss at Villa, Emery worked together with Chukwueze at Villarreal.

Both personalities were influential as Villarreal reached the final of the Europa League last year.

Fast, tricky, clever on the counter-attack, and with a developing instinct to score and supply goals, Chukwueze appears tailor-made to be a big hit in the Premier League.

For Villarreal, Chukwueze has made an impressive 29-goal contribution (14 goals and 15 assists) in 94 appearances.

The flying winger was reportedly on the radar of Arsenal and Liverpool before signing a youth contract with Villarreal in 2017. The Gunners have recently been credited with a renewed interest in the 23-year-old.

Chukwueze has a market value of €20 million and is contracted to the Yellow Submarines until the summer of 2024.
