The Nigeria international grabbed the brace that powered Les Merlus to an impressive away win on Sunday
Super Eagles striker Teremas Igobor Moffi has been included in the Ligue 1 Team of the Week by the French publication L’Equipe.
Moffi earned the prestigious recognition after smashing both of Lorient’s goals in their 2-1 derby triumph at Brest.
Moffi scored his first goal of the match in the 24th minute to cancel Del Castillo’s 17th-minute opener for the home side.
The Nigeria international then ensured that Lorient left the Stade Francis-Le Blé in Brest with all three points when he guided his second of the encounter into the net ten minutes after the break.
Moffi’s output got him an 8/10 rating, L’Equipe’s highest for the week.
The 23-year-old has now managed eight goals in the French top division, making him the joint-leading scorer with Paris St Germain’s duo of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Junior.
Having contributed more than a third of Lorient’s goals (eight out of 21), Moffi is leading Les Merlus’ charge for an unlikely Ligue 1 title challenge.
Lorient have climbed above Marseille to second on the league table, only one point behind champions PSG.
