“It’s gonna be hell” – Super Eagles star anticipates Sunday’s Prague derby

Czech Republic’s two most successful clubs meet on Sunday in what promises to be an explosive match in Prague

Super Eagles winger Peter Olayinka has backed Slavia Prague to claim a memorable win over Sparta Prague when the two bitter rivals meet on Sunday.

The Czech Liga’s gameweek 13 clash will be the 304th Prague derby between Slavia and Sparta.

In the previous 303 fixtures, Sparta hold the head-to-head advantage with 136 wins to Slavia’s 95. Seventy-two matches ended as a draw.

Olayinka expects another difficult encounter for Slavia, but he is convinced that Jindřich Trpišovský’s men have what it takes to claim all three points.

“This is a derby; as always, it’s a game that everyone is looking forward to,” Olayinka told Slavia’s official website.

“It’s gonna be hell. I know we can do it and get three points.

“It is the match that everyone has been waiting for a long time. I can see that the atmosphere in the cabin is very interesting. I think we are ready; it will be a big match.”

Aside from Olayinka, Slavia Prague boast two other Nigerian stars, Yira Sor and Moses Usor.

While Yira Sor played in last year’s Prague derby, 20-year-old Moses Usor, who was only promoted to the first team in August, will be facing Sparta for the first time.

Super Eagles forward Olayinka has revealed he is helping his compatriots prepare in the best possible way for the visit of their foes.

“Yira has already played against Sparta; he knows how important this match is,” Olayinka said. “For Moses, it will be his first derby. I have to talk to him so that he understands that this is not an easy match.

“It’s a very competitive, combative match. He has to understand that and be ready for it.”

After 12 rounds, Slavia Prague are second behind champions Viktoria Plzen while enjoying a two-point advantage over third-place Sparta.
