WATCH: Herbalists pour fetish blood on Kwara United players ahead of crucial continental clash in Niger Republic

The Ilorin-based club will advance to the next round of the competition if they avoid a heavy defeat in Niamey on Sunday

Kwara United’s preparations for today’s (September 18) CAC Confederations Cup clash with Niger Republic’s AS Douanes hit a dramatic hiccup after suffering an attack from two voodoo men.

Last weekend, Kwara United handed Douanes a 3-0 hammering in Lagos in the first leg of their Confederation Cup preliminary round match.

The Nigeriens would have to match or better that scoreline to prevent the Afonja Warriors from advancing to the next stage of the competition.

Not convinced that their Nigerien brothers could defeat the Nigerians without some spiritual help, two herbalists decided to help out.

As the Kwara United players left their team bus to make their way to the venue of the encounter, the Stade Général Seyni Kountché, they were approached by two voodoo men.

One of the Niger Republic juju men was carrying a keg of what appeared to be the blood of a goat.

The other herbalist holding on to the dead goat then sprinkled the blood on the Kwara United stars.

The herbalists also poured blood on the ground as the players walked by and on the team bus.

None of the Nigerian players appeared physically hurt by the fetish exercise.

Kwara United will advance to the next round of the Confederations Cup should they avoid conceding three or more goals.

A 3-0 loss will see the match go to penalties.
