The 23-year-old impressed during his time in the Latvian league, and he has now sealed a move to a bigger club
Two-time Czech Republic Cup winners Jablonec have confirmed the signing of former Nigeria Under-23 defender Joshua Akpudje from Latvian side Daugavpils.
Akpudje just over Nigerian shores in 2019, joining Daugavpils. He was a consistent performer, making 46 appearances in all competitions.
The former Nigeria Under-23 then joined Lithuanian club Panevezys on loan last season. Akpudje played for the club 24 times, including two Europa Conference League appearances.
He returned to Daugavpils at the expiration of his contract.
However, Akpudje has called time on his stay in Latvia, as Czech Republic Fortuna Liga side Jablonec have confirmed that they have secured his services permanently in a two-year deal.
Speaking at his unveiling, the former MFM man shared his excitement at making the move.
“It is the dream of every young player to fight for his future,” Akpudje said via the club website”
“I am grateful to God for the opportunity to be in Jablonec. Now is the time to start working on a better future.”
Akpudje will wear the number 44 jersey at the club.
