The youngster has risen eyebrows with her goalscoring ability and she has finally made a big move to Spain
Spanish Laliga Femini club UDG Tenerife have confirmed the signing of Super Falcons star Gift Monday from Nigerian top flight club FC Robo.
Gift was the best player in last season’s Nigerian Women Football league scoring 12 goals in ten games for FC Robo. In fact, she won the NWFL Most Valuable Player award even though FC Robo failed to win The league.
Her penchant for scoring goals earned her a spot in Randy Waldrum’s squad for the last Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
However, Monday failed to score rattle the net for Nigeria. Still, her pace and ability to get into space was glaring.
The competition ended on a disappointing note for the 21-year-old, but she now has a cause to smile as she has now finalised her transfer to UDG Tenerife.
She joins the Super Falcons contingent who ply their trade in Spain like Asisat Oshoala at Barcelona, Rasheedat Ajibade at Atletico Madrid, and Osinachi Ohale at Deportivo Alaves.
Monday would look to help her new team improve on their fifth-place finish in the league last season.
The new Laliga Femini season kicks off on the 11th of September.
