Meet Ethan Nwaneri, 15-year-old Nigeria eligible player who is in Arsenal squad to face Brentford

Ethan Nwaneri impressed Mikel Arteta midweek as he starred for the Arsenal U-21s and is already in the team to face Brentford on Sunday

The 15-year-old attacking midfielder was r promoted to the Arsenal first team this week after impressing with the U-18s and U-21s.

The youngster started the season with the U-18s but was upgraded to the U-21s and may be making his Premier League debut soon.

Arteta is believed to be a great admirer of the youngster who was asked not to join the U-21s for this week’s game.

Nwaneri has scored four times and assisted four for the U-21s and U-18s this season.

“He has great feet” – coach praises

In a friendly game against Slough for the U-18s, Nwaneri was hailed as a player Arsenal can hope for by the Slough coach.

“I understand their number 10 has got great feet, he’s only a real youngster,” said Baker. “I think he’s a real high hope for them at Arsenal. He’s got absolutely unbelievable ability,” he added.

Nwaneri currently represents the England U-16s and has also made one cap with the U-17s but is eligible for Nigeria through his parents.

He made headlines last year when he scored on his debut for the U-18s as a 14-year-old.

Should Nwaneri make his debut against Brentford, he will become the youngest Arsenal player and youngest player in the Premier League to make his debut.
