“It would take a lot to replace Osimhen”- retired Italian goalkeeper believes Napoli’s new signing have not done enough to bench striker

The masked Super Eagles marksman suffered an injury earlier in the month, and that has given his competitors the chance to shine

Retired Italian goalkeeper Simone Braglia believes that despite Giacomo Raspadori and Giovanni’s brilliance in recent weeks, Osimhen remains the first choice striker at Napoli.

Osimhen sustained a muscle injury earlier in September in Napoli’s 4-1 victory over Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.

However, the Nigerian hitman has not been missed much, as the Partenopeans have been in great form despite his absence.

Since his injury, Raspadori and Giovanni have been handed the responsibility of leading the attack for Napoli, and the two have been great so far, as they have a combined three goals in their last three games

Raspadori also scored two consecutive goals for Italy during the international break, and there have been talks that he could become the first-choice striker even when Osimhen returns from his layoff.

However, Braglia thinks that is impossible, as he thinks Simeone and Raspadori have not done enough to claim the starting shirt from Osimhen.

“Let’s take it easy even though he has scored two goals in a row,” Braglia said as per TuttoNapoli.

“Raspadori has great prospects but he must complete himself. It would take a lot to replace Osimhen now.”

Raspadori is expected to lead the line for Luciano Spalletti when Napoli trade tackles with Torino this weekend. However, Osimhen is expected to be back by next week for the game against Cremonese.
