The Nigeria international had missed his side’s last two league games due to an injury picked up on August 28
Super Eagles winger Moses Simon is set to make his ninth appearance in the Europa League when Nantes FC host Greek giants Olympiacos at the Stade de La Beaujoire on Thursday night.
Despite finishing ninth in the French La Ligue 1 last time, Nantes returned to the European circuit following their triumph in the French Cup last season.
Moses Simon was one of the Yellow Canaries’ best players as they beat all odds to claim the club’s fourth Coupe de France in history.
The Nigeria international has picked up from where he left off last season, as he has been crucial to Nantes’ decent start to the new season.
The 27-year-old has managed two goals and an assist in four league matches for Antoine Kombouaré’s men.
Simon, however, suffered a quadriceps injury in the 3-1 win over Toulouse on August 28, forcing him out of the encounter in the 80th minute. The former Levante forward netted the third goal in the 61st minute of that match.
In Simon’s injury-enforced absence, Nantes could only manage a 1-1 draw at Strasbourg before they were trounced 3-0 at home to PSG.
But the Super Eagles ace appears to have made it back from the treatment table just in time to make the Canaries’ 20-man squad for their Europa League Group G opener against Olympiacos.
Also drawn in the group with Nantes and Olympiacos are German Bundesliga side Freiburg and Azerbaijan’s Qarabag.
