Atletico Femeni recorded a win against Deportivo Alaves in a league game on Sunday and their Nigerian import was in her elements
Deportivo Alaves held on for 87 minutes and battled Atletico toe-to-toe but the introduction of Rasheedat Ajibade proved a significant impetus to their victory.
Ajibade wasn’t involved in the game until the 65th minute and her entrance was important to the final outcome.
Ludmila Da Silva scored the winner in the 87th minute courtesy of Ajibade’s expertly-directed assist. The win now places the capital team in third place with inferior goal difference separating them from Barcelona Femeni and Madrid CFF.
Atletico also had a good season last term and played in the cup final losing to Barcelona in the game.
A young and brilliant team, they have started the new season on a strong note after grabbing two wins out of two.
Ajibade is expected to play for the Super Falcons against Japan as part of preparations for next year’s Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
