Ndidi features as second-half capitulation condemns Leicester City to draw against Brentford

The Foxes were looking to begin their season on a high, but they lost their heads after fatal stings from the bees

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi played all 90 minutes as his Leicester City side surrendered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 against Brentford.

The foxes were looking to put the ghosts of last season behind them when they entertained Brentford at the King Power stadium.

Leicester City looks fiery from the blast of the whistle, creating opportunities for the ever-lurking Jamie Vardy.

They finally got their breakthrough in the 33rd minute, as Timothy Castagne flicked in a header into the net off a corner kick from James Maddison.

Leicester City then doubled their lead in the first minute of the second half through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who collected a pass from Vardy and fired into the bottom left corner, beating Raya in the Brentford goal.

However, from then onward, it was capitulation from Brendan Rodgers’ men.

Brentford grew into the game, and they pulled one back through talismanic striker Ivan Toney.

Ndidi tried to stabilize the midfield. The Nigerian midfielder looked unplayable in the first half, but he fizzled out in the second. Ndidi had 84 touches with an 88 percent pass accuracy.

Leicester City looked like they would see out the 2-1 scoreline. But they lost their heads in the closing embers of the game.

Josh Dasilva weaved past Leicester City players and unleashed a good shot from the edge of the box to make it 2-2.

Brentford scored late, but it was ruled out for an offside. It ended 2-2 at the King Power.

Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho was on the bench, but Rodgers decided against giving him minutes.
