The curtains have officially been drawn on the season, and whilst it was jubilation for some team, it was agony for others

Remo Stars sealed a spot in next season’s CAF Confederations Cup after securing a comprehensive 3-0 victory against Niger Tornadoes.

The Sky blue stars needed a victory on the final day of the season to complete an outstanding fairytale story and secure third position in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Remo Stars just gained promotion into the Nigerian top-flight, but they took the league by storm.

They won a penalty and Andy Okpe was on hand to convert from the spot.

The 21-year-old was not done yet, and just two minutes after the break, Okpe got his second and Remo’s second.

Okpe then completed his hattrick to ensure a 3-0 victory for Remo Stars at home, and a continental ticket.

Plateau United also join them, as they finished second, seven points behind Rivers United.
