Napoli agree to allow Nigerian star leave – report

The Neapolitans have two players of Nigerian descent in their fold but are certain to allow one to seal a move away from Naples

AS Napoli have agreed to let Nigerian midfielder Michael Folorunsho join Serie B side Bari, claims transfer market guru Alfredo Pedullà.

Folorunsho spent the first half of last season at Pordenone but left in January to team up with Reggina.

After impressing at the Reggina, Gli Amaranto reportedly wants the 24-year-old back at the club on another loan deal.

Fellow Serie B campaigners Frosinone have also been credited with an interest in the Rome-born midfielder.

However, Bari may be where Folorunsho plays his football next campaign.

The White and Reds are back in the Italian Serie B after gaining promotion as Serie C champions last term.

Negotiations should suffer little hiccups as Bari and Napoli are owned by the same businessman – Aurelio De Laurentiis.

And according to Alfredo Pedullà (via Area Napoli), Napoli and Bari have an agreement in place for the transfer of Folorunsho. The details and paper works are expected to be completed in the coming days.

This is not the first time Folorunsho will play for Bari. The attacking midfielder represented the Cockerels during the 2019-20 season.

He is yet to feature in an official match for Napoli since signing for the Neapolitans from Virtus Francavilla in 2019.
