One of the country’s most promising attacking talent in Israel is close to dumping Europe for the Americas if the latest report from the United States is anything to go by
Exciting Nigerian striker William Agada is set to dump Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Jerusalem F.C and join Major League Soccer club Sporting Kansas City.
Quoting ESPN’s Taylor Twellman, the official site of the MLS reports that Agada could ink a deal with Kansas City within the next 48-72 hours.
A centre-forward by trade, Agada enjoyed an impressive campaign in the Ligat ha’Al last season, scoring five goals in 24 games during the regular championship.
The 22-year-old attacker stepped up his game even more during the relegation round, netting another three goals in seven matches to help his side avoid relegation.
Moving to a bigger club in Israel or abroad would have been perfect for the continued development of the Hapoel Haifa academy product, but he appears set on another adventure with a struggling side in the United States.
With his contract at Hapoel Jerusalem not expiring until next year, a transfer fee will be involved for Kansas City to get their man.
The MLS side urgently needs reinforcements, with injuries and a poor run of form hurting the team.
SKC lost 2-1 at home to New England Revolution on Sunday, their second consecutive defeat, to stay rooted at the bottom of the MLS Western Conference league standings.
