Super Eagles star sends message to club fans after unplanned departure

Super Eagles midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has taken to social media to share his appreciation and send his best wishes to Huesca fans and former colleagues who supported him during his standoff with the club.

Nwakali was having a good season until after the Africa Cup of Nations. Days after Nigeria was eliminated, the club announced that Nwakali had refused to return nine days after Nigeria was knocked out.

There was constant bickering between the two parties before Huesca finally cut ties with the  Nigeria international.

However, Nwakali later revealed that there was some shenanigans going on behind the scenes.

The former Arsenal man has been silent since he was kicked out by Huesca, but he had broken his silence to acknowledge the fans and players that helped him when he had issues with his former employers.

“I never really got the chance to say goodbye, so to the fans that supported me during my time at Huesca, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

“To the staff & teammates who I shared some special memories with, I also want to thank you & wish you all the best,” Kelechi said.

Nwakali’s next destination is still in the balance, but he has to pick the pieces of his career and forge ahead when the summer transfer opens.
