Super Eagles forward stars in Sivasspor Turkish Cup win

Former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles forward came on in the extra time to add the needed impetus for the final sucker punch

Sivasspor and Kayserispor had stayed on each other’s jugular as they battled to take home the 2022 Turkish Cup.

Both teams played a 1-1 draw at the regulation time and needed the extra time to chase a cause.

Ramazan Civelek had given Kayserispor the lead in the 33rd minute before Aaron Appindagoyé restored parity for Sivasspor on the hour mark.

As both teams tried to find the last nail at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium, they struggled to settled but Ivorian winger, Max Gradel gave Sivasspor a lead for the first time in the game in the 95th minute.

It took eight minutes for Ilhan Parlak to restore the game for Kayserispor as both teams proved up to the bit for the title.

Seven minutes to the end of the extra time, Kayode assisted Moussa Konate to score the winner in the game. It was enough for Sivasspor who ended the season in 10th position to win the Turkish Cup and book a place in European football next season.
