Nigerian forward to exit Union Berlin at the end of the season

Union Berlin have announced the release of Super Eagles forward at the end of the current season

The Iron Ones have announced that Anthony Ujah will not be a part of the team next season as five players are announced to be leaving the club.

Ujah has been a fans’ favourite despite playing limited roles for the club, due to incessant fitness issues.

Five minutes before kick-off in Union’s final match of the season, the fans will have an opportunity to bid Ujah and four others a final farewell.

Another Nigerian attacker, Suleiman Abdullahi has also been released by the club.

Abdullahi is remembered by Union for scoring a vital goal in their relegation playoffs in 2020 against VfB Stuttgart.

The attacker joined Union in 2018 and was loaned to Eintracht Braunschweig in the 2020/21 season.

Ujah has had a good but injury-disturbed career in the Bundesliga, famously featuring for Koln and Mainz.

The third Nigerian in Union, Taiwo Awoniyi is also attracting interest from the Premier League and may be making a switch at the end of the season.

Awoniyi is Union’s top scorer this season and will not be available for breadcrumbs should Union Berlin decide to sell at the end of the season.
