The Nigerian international is enjoying his time in Italy and once again played a prominent role as the Zebras continued their surge up the league table with a fine home win
Nigerian forward Isaac Success claimed an assist as Udinese thrashed Empoli 4-1 at the Dacia Arena in a Serie A matchday 33 clash on Saturday.
A comfortable evening for the hosts started with Ardian Ismajili putting through his own net after just seven minutes before Success set up Gerard Deulofeu for Udinese second, seven minutes into the second half.
A clumsy Success challenge in the box handed Empoli a penalty which Pinamonti converted in the 71st minute.
But Pussetto restored Udinese’s two-goal advantage eight minutes later before Lazar Samardzic sealed the win three minutes from time.
While the Zebras can celebrate a win that lifts them to 11th on the log, Success can be particularly pleased with his output after leaving England for Italy in the summer.
After returning from an injury-ravaged 2019-20 season, Success only made ten appearances in the Championship for Watford last term, netting three goals.
The 26-year-old has featured in 18 matches for Udinese this campaign and is looking increasingly close to his best, contributing one goal and six assists to his team’s cause in the league.
Another goal and two assists in two Italian Cup matches indicate that Udinese are getting the most out of a player they acquired for less than €2 million in August.
