Osimhen ranked 4th best player in Serie A

Osimhen has played 21 of Napoli’s 32 league games this season and has proven to be arguably their most important player.

British Football magazine, FourFourTwo has ranked Osimhen as one of the best players in the league with the Nigerian emerging in fourth position despite playing considerably lesser number of games than others.

The Super Eagles attacker has scored 12 league goals in 21 games and has assisted his teammates four times.

He has also won six penalties in the ongoing season and is one of Napoli’s go-to men.

Osimhen scored his fifth goal in his last three games for Partenopei in the damning home loss to Fiorentina. He had bagged braces against Udinese and Hellas Verona.

Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic and Lazio’s Ciro Immobile chasing his fourth top scorer gong in the Serie A are the players ranked above Osimhen.

In its description of Osimhen’s impacts this season, FourFourTwo wrote;

“Osimhen’s goals have been the ammunition to Napoli’s assault on the league title this season, although the Nigerian has had another injury-disrupted year.

“The 23-year-old was badly missed when he spent two months on the sidelines with a fractured cheek between November and January, but he’s been in formidable form since returning.
“Osimhen has six goals in seven games since returning to the starting line-up at the beginning of February, including back-to-back braces in his last two games.”
The Nigerian is helping Napoli mount a title challenge as the Neapolitans are locked in a 3-horse race for the Serie A title with the Milan giants.

Osimhen won the Serie A Player of the Month for March.
