Napoli are looking to help their Nigerian import, Victor Osimhen maintain his fitness as they head into the final seven games of the season.
The attacker limped out of training on Wednesday with the Neapolitans expected to conduct further checks today and decide on his fitness level.
Partenopei are second on the log tied on points with AC Milan who are ahead on goals difference. Inter Milan sit third with a game in hand.
Osimhen has missed 16 of Napoli’s 40 games this season to injury and there are concerns over his fitness for the rest of the season, as he has proven to add great deal of quality to the team’s play.
Since the former Lille attacker’s return from injury, he has averaged a goal every 100 minutes and scored four goals in his last two games.
Osimhen sat out the game against Atalanta as a result of accumulated yellow cards and was in the news for arriving late to the team after representing Nigeria at the World Cup qualifiers.
The club has since cleared his name and said he was granted permission to stay longer since he wasn’t featuring against Atalanta.
The 23-year old striker will possibly return to the team when Napoli face Fiorentina.
