Transfers: Juventus identify Nigeria-eligible youngster as Alex Sandro’s replacement

The Old Ladies continue to revamp their squad as they aim to return to the pinnacle of Italian and European football

Juventus are in the market for a new left-back and the Italian giants have included Nigerian-Italian defender Destiny Udogie on their summer shopping list, according to a report by Calcio Dangolo.

Udogie is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in the Italian Serie A and has featured at all the youth levels for Italy.

Having emerged from the Hellas Verona youth system, the 19-year-old left-back joined Udinese on loan last summer, with the Zebras having an obligation to buy at the end of the campaign.

But Udogie has played with a maturity beyond his age and has sealed a first-team spot at Udinese, making 21 league appearances and contributing an assist.

And his performances could see him earn a switch to Juventus this summer, should the Old Ladies fail in their bid to acquire their primary target, Andrea Cambiaso of Genoa.

Despite being an Italian youth international, Udogie is still eligible to wear the colours of the Super Eagles, having been born to Nigerian parents.
