Boavista slam ₦9.6 billion price-tag on Super Eagles star amid from Trabzonspor

Portuguese club Boavista have slapped a hefty ₦9.6 billion price-tag on Super Eagles defender Bruno Onyemaechi, amid interest from Trabzonspor, Soccernet.ng reports.

Onyemaechi has had a decent start to life since he joined Boavista from Feirense in July 2023. Last season, he registered two goals and one assist in 33 appearances for Boavista last season.

This season, after just 15 appearances, the 25-year-old wing-back has registered two goals and one assist for Boavista, albeit they sit 17th in the Portuguese Primera Liga.

Nonetheless, Nigerian star Onyemaechi has attracted interest from abroad. According to Ekrem Konur, Super Lig side Trabzonspor are seriously interested in signing the Super Eagles star.

Meanwhile, Boavista have set their valuation at around €5-6 million even though Onyemaechi is valued at €3 million on Transfermarkt. However, Boavista have the disadvantage in the negotiations as Onyemaechi has just 18 months left on his contract.

Onyemaechi is keen on making the move, as although Turkey will be an entirely new environment for him, it will be a big step-up. Moreover, he will have good company there, as Super Eagles striker Anthony Nwakaeme is also at the club.

Trabzonspor won the Super Lig just three years ago, and they would be eager overthrow reigning champions Galatasaray and repeat that feat again. They currently sit 13th in the Super Lig with 19 points after 16 games.
