Vlahovic’s likely departure to Arsenal could open the door for Super Eagles star

The Violets are looking for a replacement for the Serbian centre-forward, with the Gunners reportedly closing in on him

Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu could be on his way to Fiorentina as a replacement for their star man Dusan Vlahovic if his move to Arsenal materialises.

According to the Sun, Arsenal submitted a 46million pounds plus Lucas Torreira(12.5million pounds) to Fiorentina in an attempt to lure the Violets to let go of their 21-year-old talisman.

And if that move pulls through, Voetbalnieuws reports that Fiorentina will look to prise Onuachu away from Genk.

The Nigeria international was the highest goalscorer in the Belgium Jupiler last season after scoring 33 goals in 38 appearances. However, he could not leave Cegeka Arena after links to Arsenal, Lyon, and West Ham failed to materialise.

Nevertheless, he has risen from the disappointment of last summer after a poor start to the season. Onuachu has scored 12 goals in 18 league appearances this season, and if not for injuries, he probably would have scored more.

The Smurfs will hope to get a fee of around 21 million pounds before letting go of their big talisman.
