The forward is one of the best players in the Super Lig, but keeping him could be an arduous task for the former Turkish champions
Super Eagles striker Anthony Nwakaeme could leave Trabzonspor after contract talks have stalled due to the former Turkish Champions’ inability to meet Nwakaeme’s wage demands.
The Nigerian star has been outstanding for Trabzonspor since he arrived from Hapoel Beer Sheva three-and-a-half years ago. This season, Nwakaeme has scored seven and assisted six in 17 appearances, giving the Black Sea Storm a firm grip on the Super Lig.
The 32-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season, and Trabzonspor are desperate to keep their talisman.
Earlier, Soccernet revealed that the Black Sea Storm held talks with the striker. Nevertheless, none of those talks have materialised.
According to Trabzonder, as per TV NET, Nwakaeme could leave Turkey if he gets a better offer.
The 32-year-old has one cap for Nigeria, a World Cup qualifier against Algeria in 2017.
However, FIFA ruled the game as a walkover in favour of Algeria because Nigeria fielded an ineligible player.
