The winter transfer window is currently opened, and this has opened a possible move to the French top-flight for one of Nigeria’s stars
Super Eagles star Innocent Bonke could be on his way to France to join Terem Moffi, with reports claiming Lorient are interested in him.
The 25-year-old left Swedish side Malmo earlier this month at the expiration of his contract. He was one of the best defensive midfielders in the Allsvenskan and featured in all six of Malmo’s Champions League games this season.
He was also vital in the Swedish side’s second consecutive Allsvenskan triumph.
However, he refused to renew his contract with the Swedish Champions. And according to Wyn Mercato, Ligue 1 side Lorient are considering making a move for the former Lillestrom midfielder.
The Kaduna-born midfielder could be a good signing for Les Merlus because of the solidity he brings to the middle of the park.
Lorient are currently wallowing in relegation waters, and signing Bonke could be a vital step in retaining their Ligue 1 status.
