AFCON 2021- Ready for battle

Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is finally here!

Cameroon plays host for the 33rd edition of AFCON, where 24 nations will vie for a chance to win the much-coveted Cup.

The tournament kicks off with two fixtures on matchday 1, an opener between The Indomitable Lions and the Les Etalons Burkina Faso and a duel between Ethiopia and Cape Verde by 17:00 and 20:00.

Algeria – Sierra Leone

The defending champion take on the Leone Stars in what would seem like a walk-over for them with Manchester City’s, Riyad Mahrez in their arsenal.

Senegal – Zimbabwe

2019 AFCON runners-up, Senegal, suffered a bit of hiccup in their AFCON 2021 due to illness and injury of some players, and a struggle to force Watford to release midfielder Ismail Sarah for the tournament.

With Liverpool’s Sadio Mane and Chelsea Edouard Mendy, Senegal will be looking at defeating The Warriors easily.

Nigeria – Egypt

Interim Super Eagles’ coach, Austin Eguavoen and his team faced quite a challenge piecing the squad together. Stories of injury, and refusal of clubs to release players eclipsed the Nigerian team in their preparation for the tournament.

Can the Eagles who are missing quite a number of important players- Victor Osimhen, Emmanuel Dennis, Leon Balogun and Shehu Abdullahi – subdue seven-time champions, Egypt, who has Liverpool’s shining star, Mohamed Salah on their side?

Which of these fixtures are you betting on?

Mozzart Bet, make you hammer!
