Premier League side send scouts to watch Aribo

The Nigeria international is arguably the best player at Ibrox, and he could be on his way out of the Scottish Premiership very soon

Premier League side Southampton have joined the race to sign Super Eagles and Rangers star Joe Aribo. The Saints sent a scout to watch the Rangers ace in their 1-0 Premiership win against Dundee United.

Aribo joined Rangers three years ago after leaving Charlton Athletic on a free. And even as a 22-year-old youngster, it only took him a few months to break into the first team.

Whilst under former manager Steven Gerrard who is now at Aston Villa, he grew in leaps and bounds.

However, since new gaffer Giovanni van Bronckhorst joined Rangers, Aribo has been explosive, scoring three in eight appearances and securing two Man of The Match awards.

Also, he has become a central part of the Dutchman’s setup at Glasgow. His performances have not gone unnoticed, as The Daily Record reports that Southampton sent scouts to watch the 25-year-old in his side’s 1-0 win against Dundee United.

However, Southampton are not the only side that could be in search of his services as he has also been linked with a move to Aston Villa to join his former boss Gerrard.

Aribo’s contract expires at the end of next season, and as he is yet to sign a renewal, as such, a move away from Glasgow cannot be ruled out.
