The three-time African champions missed a host of players in the World Cup Qualifier against the Central African Republic, but one of them is back in training at his club
Super Eagles star Terem Moffi has returned to training after missing Nigeria’s doubleheader World Cup qualifier against CAR.
Moffi was initially named in Nigeria’s 23-man squad for the clash against the Wild Beasts but pulled out after picking up an injury in Lorient’s 1-1 draw against Clermont Foot.
The 21-year-old has now returned to training ahead of Lorient’s Ligue 1 clash against Olympique Marseille on Sunday.
According to Lorient’s manager Christophe Pélissier, Moffi is expected to return to training on Wednesday, although he remains a doubt for the match against Marseille.
“Terem Moffi is expected in training on Wednesday, and a point will be made at that time, according to his feelings after his shoulder injury, Pélissier told actufoot.
Moffi’s potential return is a boost for Lorient. The former Kortrijk striker has scored two times and provided two assists in nine league games for Les Merlus this season.
