Manchester City, Bayern Munich submit bids for N15 billion-rated Nigerian star

Two of Europe’s biggest clubs are back in the hunt for one of Nigeria’s most prolific strikers on the continent

Spanish side Almeria have received offers from Nigerian forward Umar Sadiq from English club Manchester City and Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, according to Elgol Digital.

Sadiq attracted a lot of attention from several clubs in Europe this summer after enjoying a prolific debut season in the Spanish second division.

La Liga side Getafe submitted two offers for the former Nigerian youth international, but both were rejected by La Union.

Man City, Sevilla, and Bayern Munich were also linked with moves for a striker who smashed in 20 league goals last term and another two in the Copa Del Rey.

But no club could match Almeria’s €30 million (N15 billion) valuation of the former AS Roma starlet, leaving Sadiq to remain with the Rojiblancos for the meantime.

The 24-year-old could, however, be on the move in January, with Bayern Munich and Man City reportedly making contact with his employees ahead of the winter transfer window.

Bayern reportedly view Sadiq as a long-term replacement for Polish striker Robert Lewandowski. At City, Pep Guardiola is keen to sign a new forward in place of the departed Sergio Aguero with the Citizens failing to bring in Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

Sadiq has kicked off the campaign in style, scoring twice and creating an assist in four league games for Almeria.
